La empresa agroindustrial Danper se hizo acreedora a su cuarta estrella en el Programa Huella de Carbono Perú del Ministerio del Ambiente (Minam). Este reconocimiento es entregado solo a las organizaciones que además de medir sus emisiones, pueden certificar también su reducción. Este logro convierte a Danper en la primera y única agroindustrial del Perú en obtener este sello.
Durante los tres últimos años, Danper ha logrado reducir paulatinamente su huella de carbono en sus operaciones industriales de productos en conserva, frescos y congelados, así como en sus operaciones agrícolas en los fundos Compositan, Muchik y Casa Verde. Cabe mencionar que esta reducción está respaldada por la certificación ISO 14064-1.
En el plan de gestión ambiental de la empresa destacan sus acciones de ecoeficiencia energética como la implementación de dispositivos electrónicos de precisión, específicamente diseñados y utilizados para el consumo eléctrico, la instalación de paneles solares, la mejora de los sistemas de iluminación con tecnología tipo LED, entre otras.
El programa Huella de Carbono Perú busca contribuir al crecimiento sostenible del país y cuenta con el apoyo del Proyecto para la Implementación de las Metas Climáticas del Ministerio del Ambiente, con la asistencia técnica del Programa de Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo como parte de la Iniciativa Internacional de Protección del Clima.
